I love working on editorial as it is the epitome of creativity. The team is often hired because something in their previous work triggered an interest or their reputation might be so good that booking them is a no-brainer. When I was hired for my first book, I impressed the photographer with my work which, in turn, opened the door for many more editorial bookings.
