The Art of Tea

The Surprising Benefits of Pouring Yourself a Cuppa

It's safe to say we like a cup of tea here in the UK.  Tea is considered a drink of choice all around the world for many different reasons; in some countries it's used to hydrate or cool down, in others to relax and take a moment to de-stress and unwind. There are countless blends of tea and although traditional black tea is still the most popular choice in Britain, we are partial to varieties including Earl Grey, Matcha, Chai and Green to name a few.  Tea culture is alive and well!

Opting for loose tea has continued to gain popularity after falling out of fashion for several decades due to the rise of the tea bag (I remember when the innovatively shaped round bags were launched by Tetley in 1989!). Loose tea has a stronger flavour profile as you can brew to your own preference and the loose leaves are fresher and not ground down to the fine powder that you'll find in a bag.  In addition, you have so much choice of herbal blends, dried fruits, essences and flowers enhancing the experience.

I was fortunate to have worked with Bubble Relax recently on a video celebrating the art of tea.  They have a great website featuring a wide selection of loose teas such as Tropical, Calming and Digestive blends, all with authentic, fragrant ingredients including apple, coconut, mint and Rooibos in easy to use, re-sealable pouches.

Taking the time to brew a blend and savour the taste is a truly relaxing experience, one that we should enjoy more often.  I know I'm going to make more time to do this as the freshness and overall flavour is always far superior to anything I brew in a bag.
