Celebrity Podcast Guests

The Best Picks So Far…..

The Homespa Beauty Podcast (and it's sister, Meant To Be) developed due to my love of talking with people who inspire me. To be able to have a conversation with someone who's work and experiences have influenced your own life is a gift and I will never tire of the thrill of setting a date to record an episode! What started as reaching out to people I hoped would want to talk has evolved into people and PRs contacting me because they want to feature on my platform. I never take for granted how fortunuate I am to be in this position and wanted to reflect on a few of my favourite conversations.  First up is a selection of celebrity guests.

Glynis Barber

Currently starring in Hollyoaks as gangland boss with a heart (of sorts!) Norma Crow, I first spoke with Glynis when we were deep in the lockdowns.  Having subscribed to her Ageless website since the first article, I remain continuously impressed at how informative, forward-thinking and far-reaching her knowledge of health and wellness is and if anyone is an advert for their practices and advice, it's Glynis!

Barbara Huliniki

I've often said that if time machines were invented, I'm heading straight for Big Biba in 1970s London!  My lovely mum's memories of her teens and early twenties slotted perfectly with Barbara's rise to fame as the creator of the styles that mum and her friends would wear (or want to wear!).  Speaking with someone who's inspired me since I can remember and is genuinely a fashion rock star, speaking with Barbara was a bucket-list moment that I'd never have guessed would happen.  She's warm, friendly, inquisitive and doesn't mind talking about the past while remaining incredibly interested in the now.

Another lockdown conversation, we developed an instant connection and shared many mutual interests.  I'll always treasure the memories of our email chats and weekend phone calls.

Derren Nesbitt

I love watching shows and films from years gone by and can't bear when people use the phrase 'that was before my time'.  Well, there was a lot going on before any of our times, so let's watch older films, seek out shows from years gone by and educate ourselves about the actors who paved the way for the next generations.

Talking Pictures is a great independent TV channel here in the UK and it's because of it that I've watched many a great series and film from 1930s onwards.  Derren features frequently in 1950, 60s and 70s films and shows (most notably Special Branch and Where Eagles Dare with Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton).  His ability to make you believe he really is his character is first class. From tales of Frank Sintatra and Roger Moore to making an award-winning return as a drag artist with a very complicated life just a few years ago, being able to speak with Derren after admiring his wide and varied career was another notable highlight.
